jogged. ate a spicy california roll bento box from the sushi place around the corner. wore my green hat that i haven't worn in forever. 'gossip girl' filmed something at capitale so there were trailers all around my hood all day. my physics recitation and class actually made sense for once, whereas in chem i kinda nodded off cuz he kept saying 'ehm... ehm...' and 'is everybody wid me?'over and over again as he always does and it made me zone out. got home and made ichiban in my new pot. it was the first time i've used my stove in over a year.

08/04/08
ate oatmeal and did homework but totally forgot everything about chemical bonds, i was so still in camping mode. my hair still smelled like campfire smoke. got a $1.25 iced coffee at the bakery across the street and learned about the gaseous state of matter in chem class. ate a chicken teriyaki bento box at go sushi and walked home and watched lots of 'graham norton show's. the jonas brothers are everywhere. i like their song 'when you look me in the eyes.'

slept in cuz the beautiful rain had kept waking me up at night. i loved it. everything was muddy though, so it was a bitch to clean and pack up before we had to be checked out by noon. the drive back to nyc was sunny and gorgeous and we stopped by lafayette in jersey to eat at the millside cafe (mmm... roast beef sandwich with au jus) and go antiquing. they dropped me off at home and i jogged and took a much-needed shower and did homework while catching up on my dvr.

08/02/08
woke up at 6 in the morning to the sounds of honking canadian geese cascading past my tent. got up to blast in the disgusting outhouse next to the field where the geese had landed and were grazing with a lone deer. went back to sleep but woke up when the thunder began and the three of us zipped up and drove in the pouring rain to jumboland diner across the river in jersey. saw lots of non-ironic feathered hair and tie-dyed eagle-print shirts and white people. when we got back my tent had leaked a bit, which i was sad about, but then jeff and i went river walking while barbara napped and then we all went hiking to both dingmans falls and raymondskill falls and i was happy again. drove up to milford which was cute and had a gay store. went river walking again and never made it to the jersey side since another thunderstorm approached and we waited it out in the car and by taking showers in the janky-yet-functional showerhouses. our wood was all moist so the fire was hard to start but it eventually did and we had yummy stir-fry and garlic corn and bacon and smores. i passed out early, my clothing damp and reeking of fire smoke, my face bloated from carbs, my style radiating my newly favorited richard simmons chic.

packed and bought drinks for the weekend camping trip with barbara and jeff. showed johnny around my apartment since he was gonna stay there for the weekend with nate. we ate meatball banh mi and i felt fat. jeff picked me up in their car and we sat in traffic on canal for like 40 minutes or something before having barbara jump in at west broadway and heading into the holland tunnel. drove through jersey (it's actually pretty the further you go out!) and crossed the dingman's toll bridge ($1 my ass!) to pennsylvania, where we stayed right on the river at dingmans campground. i bought us smores at the lodge and we set up camp and ate veggie burgers and snuck our rum into cups since booze isn't allowed. the fire burned bright and the stars were nebulous and the kids in the camp next to us were loud and there were fireflies and baby frogs and slugs everywhere.

jogged shirtless. attempted physics homework but didn't understand anything. johnny came over to watch saved episodes of 'living lohan' and 'project runway.' i blasted and went to class and physics recitation was better than usual but physics class was a bore and i got my midterm back and totally bombed it and chem was more about chemical bonds. subwayed it downtown and met linus at joe's shanghai for soup dumps and then i showed him my place and he went home.

got suited up and went to my interview. it was at a huge aids clinic and nursing home and the guy i interviewed with was really nice and gave me a tour and i really wanna volunteer there. everyone was excited at the nursing home cuz they'd just gotten new patio furniture. i walked home thinking about it. got banh mi and did homework and went to chem, where we learned about chemical bonds. on my way home i was checking out a michael stahl-david look-a-like on the other side of the train when suddenly i look in front of me and made direct eye contact with this hot silver fox (in, sadly, a horribly bedazzled 'i <3 ny' tee). i kept playing solitaire on my ipod nano tho cuz he made me nervous and i don't know how to flirt with anyone anymore. got home and, like, no one came to my 'project runway' viewing party but then darwin finally did and shane too but only cuz kornel canceled on him in order to catch his flight to barcelona, which he'd forgotten about. wtf.
